Beckfield's Show-Stopping Christmas Performances

Our Christmas performances this year were nothing short of spectacular, showcasing the incredible talent and creativity of our pupils.

Our youngest stars in EYFS brought a touch of magic to the stage with their Nativity, featuring a breathtaking dance with shining lights to 'A Sky Full of Stars.'

In KS1, we were treated to a wonderfully modern twist on the Christmas story, complete with a very cool Santa in sunglasses!

Finally, our KS2 Drama Club took us to the rooftops of London with an ambitious production of 'Mary Poppins,' ending on a high note with a flying kite that delighted us all.

We are so proud of the hard work and confidence every child displayed during these memorable shows. Thank you to all the staff who made these performances possible.

Engaging with Our Parents

It has been a pleasure to welcome so many parents and carers into school throughout this busy half-term.

Thank you to everyone who attended our 'Open Classroom' event, where families were able to see our daily story time sessions in action. Reading daily to children is hugely important, not just to help their reading development, but also to build their vocabulary, creativity and world-view.

The Christmas Fair was also a wonderful success, with a fantastic turnout and a popular appearance from Santa in his beautiful grotto.

These events rely on your participation, and we are grateful for the time you take to support the school and celebrate the children's hard work. Thank you to everyone in our community for making these recent gatherings so well-attended and enjoyable.

World of Work Week

In November, our Year 5 pupils dived into a fantastic "World of Work" week, exploring a variety of exciting career paths and future possibilities.

The children loved teaming up with Year 4 for a "Guess the Job" challenge and used excellent problem solving skills to work out their careers.

A highlight was hosting our annual Careers Fair where nine professionals shared insights, answered questions and brought props connected to their daily roles.

The Year 5 children also took their first steps into the professional world by writing job applications and impressing members of our Academy Community Council during formal interviews.

The week wrapped up with a brilliant "Dragon’s Den" style competition, where teams pitched creative designs for a new picnic lunch box.

It was wonderful to see the children showcase such impressive confidence, teamwork, and aim high throughout the week!

Our pupils have been busy supporting the local community and spreading festive cheer this half-term.

Our Co-op Young Leaders and House Captains visited the Pudsey Community Project to help sort donations for the "Reduce, Re-use Kids' Clothes" scheme.

Additionally, our Year 5 and 6 Christmas Choir gave a wonderful performance at the Tyersal Residents Association Community Centre during their festive party.

It was a privilege to see our students representing the school so well while helping such meaningful local causes. We are incredibly proud of their kindness and the positive impact they have made on those around them.

Boys' Football: Season Kick-Off! ⚽

Our Year 5 and Year 6 boys' team showed fantastic grit and determination as they played their very first game of the season in the Leeds Schools FA League.

It was a high-energy match, and the boys represented Beckfield with excellent teamwork and positivity working together.

We are very proud of how they worked together as a team for the first time on the pitch, and we look forward to seeing their skills continue to grow in the games ahead!
